Thanks Mr. Gerardi

There are many Poly stories that are a part of me. I come from a long line of Poly grads. My dad, class of '41, saw his 4 sons graduate with B course diplomas. But, what I'd like to say here is, "Thanks, Mr. Gerardi. You were very tolerant of me when I needed a break." I'll never forget that tap on the shoulder when I picked up a freshman and stood him on the cafeteria table making him sing the Poly anthem. I turned to see Mr.Gerardi give me the follow me signal. We walked the long halls to his office without a word. I'd never been to the principal's office before. He was a soft spoken guy who commanded my complete respect. He instantly pulled my record. "You're good at Math?", "Yes sir", "You know, initiations are against school rules?", "Yes sir". "Well then, don't do it anymore.", "Yes sir" And I never did. Although I got caught doing other shenanigan's which brought me to that chair, I could never lie to him. I gave him more than enough reason to throw me out of Poly, but Mr.Gerardi helped me tremendously by seeing me through.

Thanks,

Mike Annen

Class of '77
